Credit Union Foundation Supports Financial Literacy

TCapturehe Credit Union Foundation of the Dakotas (NCUF Partner) recently met and awarded three South Dakota organizations with grants to support their financial literacy programs. Receiving awards are the Rural Offices of Community Services, Lake Andes, SD; Interlakes Community Action Partnership, Madison, SD; and Jr. Achievement of South Dakota, Sioux Falls. The Rural Offices of Community Services and the Interlakes Community Action Partnership will be using the awarded funds to support their local VITA programs supporting the elderly as well as the low to moderate income families with free tax preparation assistance.� Foundation funds will also be supporting the classroom programs offered by Junior Achievement throughout the state of South Dakota. The Credit Union Foundation of the Dakotas is funded by participating North and South Dakota Credit Unions. It funds projects in the areas of access to financial services, financial education, savings and asset accumulation, and small credit union development.
