PELICAN STATE CU AWARDS $15,000 IN TEAM PELICAN COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
 

BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA – Pelican State Credit Union is excited to announce that it has awarded $15,000 in college scholarships to graduating high school seniors in 2024.

The Team Pelican Scholarship Program is an exclusive benefit for Team Pelican Youth Savings Account members! Pelican selected thirteen finalists for academic achievements, acts of service, and inspirational goals.

2024 Team Pelican Scholarship Award Recipients:

Jordan Himel, South Beauregard High School

Monreau Morrison, University Laboratory School

Shaniya Johnson, East Feliciana High School

Lillie Moncla, St. Thomas More Catholic High School

Taylor Darbonne, Denham Springs High School

Tamyra Robinson, Ouachita Parish High School

Taylor Citizen, Louisiana School for Math, Sciences, and the Arts

Ruben Kho, Holy Savior Menard Central High School

Laila Javery, Benjamin Franklin High School

Laya Summers, Hammond High School

Angelyn Kelpsch, Terrebonne High School

Hannah Givens, Welsh High School

A volunteer committee of Pelican team members carefully reviewed applications from over 300 applicants from across the state. Award recipients are encouraged to use their scholarships to cover tuition, textbooks, meal and housing plans, and other educational expenses.

Founded in 2008, Pelican’s Team Pelican Scholarship Program has awarded $159,500 in scholarships. It’s one of the many reasons it pays to be a member of Pelican. Team Pelican Youth Savings Accountholders benefit from scholarship award eligibility and monetary rewards for good grades on their report cards each semester.
