Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union Awards $1,500 to The Kristy Williams Memorial Foundation
LOWELL, MA (January 22, 2024)– Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union is pleased to present The Kirsty Williams Memorial Foundation with a $1,500 donation, as the winner of the organization’s fourth quarter Give-A-Click campaign.
The Give-A-Click program runs quarterly on the We Share a Common Thread Foundation website (WSACT.com). Community members visit the site, learn about the worthy non-profit contestants, and cast their votes for the organization they would like to support. The nominee with the most votes at the end of the quarter is awarded a $1,500 donation from the Foundation. The fourth-quarter nominees included Brigid’s Crossing and the SPC Matthew Pollini Memorial Fund.
The Kristy Williams Memorial Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to provide hope and financial support to individuals battling brain tumors and other forms of cancer. Founded after Kristy Williams, a registered nurse, was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 23, the organization's primary goal is to relieve the financial burden of cancer patients. Kristy spent 12 years of her life undergoing aggressive treatments, surgeries, and radiation, yet faced each day with hope and positivity. She inspired others with her kindness and compassion, using her nursing profession to instill hope in those with similar diagnoses. Kristy passed away on October 31, 2021, after a valiant battle with brain cancer.
“Our foundation is extremely grateful for everyone who voted for us to win the Give-A-Click Program,” said Co-Founder, Jillian Dooley. “A huge thank you to Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. This will allow us to donate to another family in need and continue the mission of the Kristy Williams Memorial Foundation.”
“We are proud that a program like Give-A-Click can help make an impact with organizations like The Kristy Williams Memorial Foundation,” said Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Officer at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. “I am humbled by the Foundation’s compassion to help others to honor Kristy’s memory.”
Voting for Jeanne D’Arc’s first quarter Give-A-Click nominees is now open. Cast your vote for one of these three great organizations: Lowell Youth Skating Association, Lowell Youth Leadership Program, or Sophie’s Hope Foundation.
