The fog didnt keep local residents from the fourth annual Pumpkin Patch Event at Aldor Acres on Saturday, October 19, hosted by Envision Financial in partnership with the BC Professional Fire Fighters (BCPFF) Burn Fund and the Township of Langley Fire Fighters. The goal of the event was to provide a positive and fun environment for children and adult burn survivors and their families to build relationships and a sense of community with one another. The day was a tremendous success, with over 140 people in attendance, including children and adult burn survivors and their families as well as local Langley Township fire fighters. Activities included playing in the petting zoo corner, enjoying hayrides, picking out a pumpkin to take home from the pumpkin patch, visiting with Sparky the Fire Dog and eating a delicious hot dog lunch. The event also included fire safety information for the general public visiting Aldor Acres. "This is such a valued community event with members from the adult burn community who look forward to participating rain or shine at the Pumpkin Patchwith Envision Financial," says Ann Coombs, Program Director, The FUTURE IS MINE - Serving The Adult Burn Community, BCPFF Burn Fund. The BCPFF Burn Fund provides life saving, life supporting and life enriching services to residents of BC.
