FORUM Celebrates Foundation Recipients

FORUM Credit Union recently held its ninth annual Foundation Summer Reception at the FORUM Events Center in Fishers. This reception honors the Foundation’s current educator grant and collegiate scholarship recipients. This year, the Foundation awarded fourteen educators and eight students from central Indiana.

The following educators received grants, in various amounts totaling $24,981, for their classrooms:
Meagan Brown, Trailside Elementary School; Jennifer Conley, St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church; Amy Hartung, Pleasant Run Elementary School; John Hochstetler, Riverside Intermediate School; Majenica McLeland, Sankofa School of Success at Arlington Woods #99; Margaret Boling Mullin, PhD, NBCT, College Park Elementary School; Shayna Nelson, Whiteland Community High School; BJ O’Connor, Perry Meridian 6th Grade Academy; April Pickett, Smoky Row Elementary School; Zachary Rohrbach, Avon High School; Mark Sanders, New Palestine Junior High; Jessica Schwab, Greenwood Middle School; Madeline Seghers, Fortville Elementary School; Brandi Taziyah, Arsenal Technical High School.

The following students received $5,000 collegiate scholarships, renewable for up to four years totaling $20,000 each:
Edred Azziz, Warren Central High School; Lauren Bergman, Hamilton Southeastern High School; Cayla Compton, Hamilton Southeastern High School; Luke Gaston, Mt. Vernon High School; Brayden Kenworthy, Zionsville Community High School; Violet Key, Franklin Community High School; David Mokaya, Park Tudor School; Jacy Thomas, IUPUI.

Applications for educator grants are now open for the 2023/2024 school year. Educators in Marion and surrounding counties are encouraged to apply for classroom grants before September 1, 2023, and recipients will be announced by October 1, 2023. The application for collegiate scholarships will be available on October 1, 2023, and recipients will be announced in the spring of 2024. Teachers and students can apply online.
