Pigs for Financial Education

TruMark Financial® Credit Union proudly hosted it’s 12th annual Kiss A Pig fundraiser on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. The highly anticipated event aimed to raise funds for financial education initiatives in the Philadelphia area, while emphasizing the importance of financial education.

Participants signed up for the Kiss A Pig fundraiser, pledging to raise money for the privilege of kissing the lovable pig, Ruby from Ross Mill Farms. The event garnered significant support from the community, while raising $13,000.

The funds raised through the event will benefit several schools and organizations dedicated to promoting financial education. Grateful recipients of the grants include Baldi Middle School, George Washington High School, Maritime Academy Charter School, Our Lady of Calvary School, and St. Jerome School. Additionally, the Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha (APM), also will receive a grant to further their financial education initiatives.

The success of the Kiss A Pig fundraiser would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of TruMark Financial employees and sponsors who passionately raised funds for the cause. Special recognition goes to Joe Becker, Jim Finucane, and Mark Schmidt from TruMark Financial, who went above and beyond in their fundraisingefforts. The event also received support from local sponsors including Freedom Mortgage, Kershner OfficeFurniture, State National, and PSCU, who actively contributed to the fundraising campaign.

The event was emceed by Marc Farzetta, the host of "Farzetta in the Morning" on 97.5 The Fanatic. Farzetta's infectious energy and engaging presence added excitement and entertainment to the festivities. Inspiring speeches by Liz Crawford and Grant Gilmore, the husband-wife duo and new hires for CBS Philadelphia, emphasized the importance of financial education in shaping a secure future for individuals and communities.

"We are overwhelmed by the incredible generosity and support from our participants, employees, and
sponsors," said Kelly Botti, CEO of TruMark Financial Credit Union. "Their commitment to financial
education is truly commendable, and we are proud to channel these funds to schools and organizations
that will make a meaningful impact in promoting financial education."
