Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union awarded $20,000 in college scholarships to members through their MoneyStrong and Employee College Scholarship Programs. Each year, Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union offers scholarships to incoming college freshmen and current college students attending an accredited two or four-year college.

Applicants for the 23rd Annual MoneyStrong College Scholarship Program were presented with the prompt: “Credit is borrowed money that you can use to purchase goods and services when you need them. Why credit is important, and how can a good credit score can help you achieve your goals.” This year, the Credit Union received more than ninety applications and granted twenty-five scholarships to students. Among the recipients, eighteen are high school seniors preparing for their freshman year of college, six are current college students attending various colleges throughout the area, and the Credit Union awarded its first scholarship to an MBA student.

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union's commitment to its employees is evident through their Employee Scholarship Program. Jeanne D’Arc employees, as well as their eligible children or grandchildren, have the opportunity to receive up to a $1,000 scholarship. Four scholarships were available, three of which commemorate former Jeanne D’Arc employees and board members, while the fourth emphasizes the importance of volunteerism. A total of $4,000 was awarded to the four recipients.

In addition to its own scholarship programs, Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union had the privilege of nominating three candidates for the Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA) Scholarship. Among the submissions, Meghan Boucher, from North Middlesex Regional High School, was chosen as the recipient of the $1,500 scholarship for the Tri-County North Chapter. This marks the second consecutive year that a Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union member has received this honor.

“When I hear about the accomplishments of these young leaders, I am always so impressed by their drive to succeed and compassion for others,” said Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Officer of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. “We are proud to support this next generation of leaders.”

A special reception was held on Thursday, May 25, at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union’s Headquarters to honor and celebrate the scholarship recipients. The Credit Union takes great pride in supporting these deserving individuals on their educational journeys.
