FCCU Awards $57K in Scholarships
First Community Credit Union (FCCU) proudly announces it will be awarding $57,000 in college scholarships this year. FCCU will award 28 graduating high school seniors with college scholarships.
FCCU and its Board of Directors are honored to provide 13 multi-year scholarships valued at $2,000 or $4,000 to the following students to use toward their college academia: Amber Schmitt of Napoleon, Chase Otterson of Fargo, Kadence Wiedmeier of Oakes, Landon Koenig of Portland, Aiden Bryce-Volk of Devils Lake, Jacob Van Lith of Rutland, Aspen Christeson of Fargo, Haylee Meyer of Hankinson, Ethan Bergstrom of Portland, Nyssa Lemay of Northwood, Tyler Thompson of Oakes, Blake Houska of Kindred and Emily Gustafson of St. John.
In addition, FCCU is providing 15 other single-year $1,000 scholarships to the following students: Trenton Erbele of Napoleon, Ashley Weiss of Wimbledon, Jordan Dooley of Jamestown, Laikyn Roney of Oakes, Kaylee Kemp of Grand Forks, Ethan Igl of Jamestown, Maci Moellenkamp of Portland, Justus Boos of Bismarck, Easton Baesler of Portland, Brynn Dethlefsen of Oakes, Wayne Jr. Martell of St. John, Jadie Osier of Kindred, Tyler Piehl of Jamestown, Tanecia Kleppe of Napoleon and James Schumacher of Wishek. FCCU is also proud to announce Katelyn Falk of Jamestown was chosen as the winner of the best essay, winning a $250 Visa gift card.

Over the past 26 years, FCCU has given out more than $650,000 in scholarships. The Board of Directors recognizes the importance of young people receiving a good education and wants to encourage young people to do their best. FCCU continues to do its part in providing incentives to help students reach their full potential. In 2014, First Community Credit Union created a program that supports our dedication to area communities by reinvesting in youth. FCCU donated $1 million into a scholarship foundation to provide additional scholarship dollars to graduating high school students. The earnings from the foundation go to fund scholarship opportunities for members of the Credit Union for years to come.
