United was founded in 1949 by people just like you who believed in the values of the community and who believed in service to one another. We’ve been serving Members ever since, growing into who we are today with the knowledge that strength in numbers brings opportunities and prosperity to all of us.

With the American Red Cross experiencing an urgent need for blood donations, United Federal Credit Union partnered with the organization to host a blood drive on April 5, 2023 at its headquarters at 150 Hilltop Road in St. Joseph, Michigan. Through the generosity of employees and individuals from the community, we had 21 people attempt to give blood.

“With such a demand for blood donations, United is proud to help the American Red Cross fill such a crucial need,” said Tina Vaught, Branch Manager. “Every time we host blood drives with the Red Cross, Team United, our Members, and the community step up with their support. United is proud to live the credit union philosophy of people helping people, especially in times of need.”

The American Red Cross said the need for blood is constant. It provides about 40% of our nation’s blood and blood components, all from generous volunteer donors.

Every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood, according to the American Red Cross. Donations from blood drives help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer.
