$30,000 to Support Public Library
March 2, 2023
The RCU Foundation made a $30,000 gift to the Friends of the Ellsworth Public Library. The funds from this campaign were used to move the Ellsworth Library to its new larger home in downtown Ellsworth. The newly re-located and renovated library is four times larger than the old library. The Royal Credit Union Foundation Children’s Area in the new library is designed to meet the literary needs of the area’s youth.
“The RCU Foundation's gift made it possible to create a little bit of magic in our library, from flip bins for picture books allow our young library users to select books based on the cover art to computers reserved for youth ensure access for schoolwork and entertainment” said Tiffany Meyer, Director of the Ellsworth library. “The Royal Credit Union Foundation Children's Area was designed to be a welcoming environment for our community's youth and families, and people are absolutely loving it.”
“The Royal Credit Union Foundation has a proud history of supporting libraries in areas served by Royal Credit Union” said John Sackett, President of the RCU Foundation Board. “We are honored to support the newly renovated and expanded Ellsworth library as it will ensure that community members from Ellsworth and beyond will have a place to gather and learn for years to come.”
The Ellsworth Public Library opened in its new location in January of 2023.
