Bluestone Federal Credit Union in Sioux Falls, SD used their holiday donation drive this year to raise money and collect goods for Almost Home Canine Rescue. Together with funds collected from their annual bake sale, they were able to donate $1,000 plus food, toys, cleaning supplies and more to the local rescue organization.

The two events were part of Bluestone’s Care Committee events for the year. The Care Committee is their community outreach group that organizes events such as tie blankets, serving food at the Banquet and the Ronald McDonald House and more. The committee strives to encourage employee involvement within their communities.

Each year, Bluestone’s Care Committee holds a bake sale in October that helps raise funds to purchase gifts for their annual holiday gift drive in December. This year’s bake sale raised $667. Organizations that the events have supported in past years include Sharing Christmas, Sioux Falls Area Humane Society and Bethany Meadows retirement community, among others.
