Credit Union Hosting Community Event Featuring St. Louis Rams
October 18, 2013
EDWARDSVILLE, IL St. Louis Rams cornerback Janoris Jenkins is scheduled to make an appearance 5 to 6pm Tuesday, Oct 22 at Scott Credit Unions Home Office in Edwardsville.
Jenkins, who had 24 tackles through the Rams first five games, is set to meet with fans and sign autographs during a community event that will also feature the Rams Street Team. The event will be held from 4:30 to 6:30pm at Scott Credit Unions location on Route 143 near Interstate 55.
"We are very pleased to have the Rams starting cornerback join us for our event," said SCU Community Relations Supervisor Ashleigh Deatherage. "Janoris will be joined by the Rams Street team. They will have games for families and will also have some giveaways. It should be a fun event for our community."
The event is being held in conjunction with a promotion that Scott Credit Union is running through the end of November. Anyone who opens a credit card at SCU during the promotion will receive two free Rams tickets to see them take on Tampa Bay on Dec 22.
"We invite the community to come out and meet a Rams player and get his autograph," Deatherage added. "We also will have some refreshments during the event. Were really excited about it."
Scott Credit Union recently announced that it had signed a three-year partnership agreement with the St. Louis NFL Franchise, making the local credit union the Official Credit Union of the Rams.
"It has been an exciting partnership for Scott Credit Union," Deatherage added. "We are very proud to partner with the Rams. What an honor for us to be able to tie our organization to a professional sports franchise that has fans on both sides of the river."
Scott Credit Unions agreement with the Rams includes both television and radio commercials during Rams programming as well as signage in the Edward Jones Dome on game days and combined community events.
"We recently were a sponsor of the Rams team practice at Scott Air Force Base," Deatherage noted. "They invited all of the military families out to watch, and even participate in, the practice. As the presenting sponsor, we were very proud to be part of this community event. Supporting our communities is very important at Scott Credit Union. It was a great way for us to give back to the community at Scott Air Force Base."
Scott Credit Union is also working on plans to offer a St. Louis Rams version of its debit card and Rams checks with its checking account.
"Scott Credit Union and the St. Louis Rams seem to be a great fit," Deatherage said.
