As a not-for-profit financial institution, we’re different from a bank because our members are our owners. The credit union’s profits are returned to members in the form of competitive rates, higher investment returns, and fewer fees.

FORT WASHINGTON, Pa — St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children administrators and team members were pleasantly surprised when TruMark Financial team members arrived at the hospital and began unloading two vans filled to the brim with toys for their patients. The credit union held a toy drive hoping to lift the patients’ spirits and spread a little cheer during the holiday season. Having toys to play with helps with the healing process and challenges of hospitalization.

TruMark Financial’s Justin McNulty and the Malvern branch team led the charge by raising $1,100 to purchase gifts in addition to those donated by other team members and credit union members who brought gifts into the branches. The credit union also made a monetary donation to assist the hospital with its community initiatives.

Parents or caregivers of children in the hospital over the holidays can choose from the donated toys. With thousands of children visiting the hospital each year, there is an ongoing need for new toys, craft supplies, and books throughout the year. Toys also are distributed to patients treated in the Emergency Department and procedure areas.

“The incredible generosity of our community partners, family, and TruMark Financial is allowing us to make a holiday for children and their families special who would not otherwise be able to have the amount of toys and special gifts. This is wonderful for our St. Chris families and we are so grateful,” said Dr. Renee Turchi, St. Christopher’s Hospital.

This act of kindness is not new to the credit union. The credit union philosophy is “People Helping People” which extends beyond the walls of the credit union and its members.  “Service is a core value for our credit union. This value is not only reflective as how we serve and care for our members, but how we serve and care for our community and one another,” said Kelly Botti, TruMark Financial chief executive.
