Credit Union Raises $30,000 for Children's Hospital
October 18, 2013
Arizona Central Credit Union raised $30,000 for Phoenix Childrens Hospital. The fundraiser was part of an annual collaborative campaign that included credit union employees, the Childrens Miracle Network, local media and financial sponsors.
Todd Pearson, President & CEO of Arizona Central said, "Im humbled every day when I see how the spirit of giving continues to flourish in our organization. Our employees, members and management teams have taken Arizona Centrals community giving and volunteerism efforts to a whole new level."
Mr. Pearson presented an official check live on the air to Phoenix Childrens Hospital in September during a local media Give-a-Thon sponsored by News/Talk 92.3 KTAR radio. The event promotes awareness and raises funds for the 1 Darn Cool School, an-on-site classroom that provides daily instruction and academics for children facing extended hospital stays. Employees from the credit union staffed phone banks and processed donations from listeners.
A majority of the funds were also raised via Miracle Jeans Day, a national promotion with the Childrens Miracle Network that rewards employees with extra casual days as incentives to boost giving levels. In addition, national sponsor CO-OP Financial Services participated by adding an additional $10,000 to the Arizona Central Credit Union contribution to the hospital.
Arizona Central Credit Union, also as part of its Central Cares initiative, raises funds on a continuous basis for Phoenix Childrens Hospital, Tucson Medical Center and other local charities.
