AUSTIN, Nov. 16, 2022 – Greater Texas Credit Union has joined the ranks of high level sponsors of the 46th annual Statesman Capitol 10,000, the largest 10k in Texas and sixth largest in the country, scheduled for April 16, 2023. The Austin-based credit union will sponsor the 2023 runner photos.

As race participants work their way through the Cap10K course, photographers will be along the route to capture their biggest smile. Through this partnership, Greater Texas will ensure that each person receives a free post-race photo(s) to share with family, friends and colleagues.

The 2023 Statesman Cap10K benefits the Mike & Sherry Project. One dollar of every Cap10K registration will go to this local nonprofit organization, which the Statesman will match up to $10,000.

"We are elated to be part of the Statesman Cap10K as the official financial sponsor,” said Howard Baker, President and CEO of Greater Texas Credit Union. “This is the iconic running event in Austin and a family affair for so many people. We are so thrilled to be part of the memory making that happens at the Cap10K, and that’s why we will provide each runner a free professional photo of that special moment when they cross the finish line.”

Baker added, “Being a Cap10K sponsor also allows us to help support this year’s race beneficiary, the Mike & Sherry Project and the integral mental health services it provides to workers in the restaurant, bar and hospitality industry.”

Jeff Simecek, Statesman Cap10K race director commented, “Like the Cap10K, Greater Texas Credit Union has deep Texas roots. Support of community efforts is an integral part of both our core missions. We are proud to work with a team dedicated to making a difference in our Central Texas community by supporting the Mike & Sherry Project, our 2023 race beneficiary.”

Registration is currently open on Cap10K.com
