Credit Union of America Raises Over $66K for CMN Hospitals
November 15, 2022
Wichita, Kansas – November 15, 2022 – Credit Union of America is excited to announce that the 16th Annual CUA 2022 Children’s Miracle Network Golf Classic raised $66,506.79 for sick and injured Kansas kids. The tournament has raised a total of $720,366.79 over the past 16 years. CUA attributes its success to three key elements.
-
A worthy cause all can relate to.
-
A tournament that’s fun, classy, and doesn’t nickel & dime it’s golfers.
-
Supportive partners, sponsors, and grant providers, with many returning year after year.
CUA co-partners with the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Ascension Via Christi (CMNH), a local CMNH family each year, and The Wichita Open (part of the Korn Ferry PGA Tour). The Korn Ferry Tour is a 10-day event and CUA’s tournament is the kick-off activity for The Wichita Open. This provides CUA’s golfers with a pristine course to play even before the pros step foot on it. Golfers are treated to breakfast on the green and a lunch overlooking the 18th hole. Prices are kept low at $250 per person, and each golfer receives a gift bag with the coveted “polo shirt of the year” a $75 value, which features a Wichita Open/PGA embroidered logo, and two tickets to The Wichita Open, among other items. In addition to a beautiful morning of golf, the course is filled with fun stations, including two Margaritaville tents, snack & beer carts, team photos, and a meet-the-CMNH family tent. During lunch CUA’s 2022 guest CMNH family shared their story with the golfers and sponsors, bringing the day to a close focused on the real purpose of the golf tournament. Hearing how the family was helped by CMNH, regardless of illness or income, and meeting the family recipient(s) first-hand brings many smiles, tears, and additional donations.
