Collinsville, Illinois Scott Credit Union recently presented a $1,650 check to representatives from the Collinsville Main Street Community Association to sponsor its 2013 Fall Festival that will be held on Oct. 26 on Main Street.
The event will feature family activities including a childrens costume contest at noon, a pet parade at 2pm, a chili cook off from 10am to 3pm and trick-or-treating for children.
Scott Credit Union Community Relations Representative Jennifer Riebold presented the check recently to Collinsville Main Street Community Association President Tami Springer and Vice President� Leah Joyce.
Collinsville Main Street Community Associations mission is to improve the quality of life by strengthening the downtown as a center of the community through concentrated efforts of volunteerism in organization, promotion, design and economic restructuring.
"This is another great opportunity for us to support our community and the people who live here," Riebold said. "It is our way of showing our support to downtown Collinsville."
"Credit unions are really about helping people and this is a perfect way for us to take that even a step further," she added.
Scott Credit Union representatives will be on site during the Fall Festival with a trick-or-treat table and a special Halloween drawing. Scott Credit Unions surcharge-free mobile ATM also will be available at the event.

Scott Credit Union has made giving back to its communities a major priority. The local credit union contributed over $275,000 and its employees volunteered over 2,300 hours to a variety of local civic efforts throughout the region in 2012.
"We realize that without our members and the communities in which we serve, we would not exist as a financial alternative," Riebold noted. "Supporting our communities is very important to us."
The credit union has increased its community involvement in the past few years while also increasing its efforts to educate consumers of the value of doing their financial business with a not-for-profit credit union.
