Rapid City, SD - Highmark Federal Credit Union recently held their third annual "CU on the Green" golf tournament to raise funds for Feeding South Dakotas Backpack Program.� This year, Highmark FCU raised $3162 for the program!
48 players participated in the tournament, which was held at the Elks Golf Club. Along with a fun day of golfing, participants enjoyed a chipping contest; players had the chance to win raffle tickets if they could chip the ball into a pool of water. The raffle tickets were then drawn for prizes that were given away at the end of the day. There were also team prizes, and pin prizes including a chance to win $15,000 in cash thanks to hole-in-one sponsor, CUDL.
To help the fundraiser along, Highmark staff also participated in a jeans day each week for the duration of the summer in addition to hosting a raffle for a gift�basket that included auto accessories and a $200 gas card.
The Feeding South Dakota Backpack Program is designed to provide nutritious, easy to make meals during the weekend for at-risk children. The food is packaged and distributed in non-descript sacks to carry home and is distributed on Friday afternoons at school.
