The University of Michigan Credit Union has made a major contribution to the University of Michigan Health System for the benefit of the C.S. Mott Childrens Hospital and Von Voigtlander Womens Hospital.
The gift will be used to benefit the outstanding work done by the hospital as they continue to be the leaders and best in healthcare by providing excellence in medical education, patient care and research.
The gift, in the amount of $342,000 will also be used in part to support the art installation, "Ancient Arb I" bronze fossil floor showcased at the main entrance of the C.S. Mott Childrens Hospital.
The piece is a bronze, terrazzo, mother-of-pearl and shell inlay created by internationally acclaimed artist Michele Oka Doner.
"University of Michigan Credit Union is extremely honored to be a part of this amazing collaborative effort with the University of Michigan Health System. "We are very grateful for the support from the University of Michigan Credit Union," said Paul King, executive director of C.S. Mott Childrens Hospital and Von Voigtlander Womens Hospital. "The art installation at our front door is a favorite with children and adults alike, and we look forward to the future possibility of the mobile application and book.
