October 4, 2013
TopLine Federal Credit Union's assistant vice-president of marketing, Vicki Erickson, has been appointed to Minnesota Jump$tart Coalition's 2013-2014 Board of Directors. Jump$tart is a national nonprofit that promotes financial literacy for children through professional development for educators, school partnerships and policy research.
"TopLine has a long legacy of supporting youth financial literacy, and Vicki Erickson has been very involved in those efforts. Her experience teaching financial literacy at schools, colleges and organizations, and her work serving as spokesperson for TopLine's own youth program -- makes her a valuable asset for Jump$tart," says Jim Eisenreich 2012/13 Minnesota Jump$tart President, Minnesota Jump$tart Board of Directors. "Teaching about financial literacy from an early age is an essential step toward creating smart, financially literate adults -- and TopLine plays a big role in furthering these goals in our community."
"I am honored to serve on the Minnesota Jump$tart Coalition Board -- I have long admired the work that Jump$tart does in Minnesota and nationally," says Vicki Erickson, TopLine Federal Credit Union assistant vice-president of marketing. "Jump$tart's mission and vision align perfectly with TopLine's -- to provide kids with the financial understanding they need now to help them make smart financial decisions throughout their lives."
TopLine offers its members Get Smart with Your Money, an ongoing community initiative encouraging kids of all ages and their families to talk about spending, saving and sharing money wisely, and is a longstanding advocate of financial education. The credit union also regularly offers youth literacy programs -- Building Dreams for ages 5-8, Dollar Power for ages 9-13 and Dollars & Sense for ages 14-18. In addition to Jump$tart, TopLine has worked with National Endowment for Financial Education, the National Association of Federal Credit Unions and Moonjar, which provides learning tools for financial literacy educators.
