Credit Union Will Assist Members if Government Shuts Down

service�PORTSMOUTH NH��Service Credit Union will credit direct deposit for military and DOD GS �members affected by the pending government shutdown through its Government Shutdown Guaranteed Pay program. Service Credit Unions Government Shutdown Guaranteed Pay program automatically deposits the amount of military or DOD GS pay into the members account, based on the last received direct deposit to the credit union. "At Service Credit Union, we strongly believe that our military active duty, Guard, Reserve and retirees are most important to us and the safety of our great country. We wish to ensure that they do not encounter any financial hardship, inconvenience and/or financial harm due to the looming government shutdown" says Gordon Simmons, President/CEO of Service Credit Union. "Service Credit Union is honored to support our loyal members with this exclusive government shutdown safety net." Those military and DOD GS employees receiving who are affected by the pending government shutdown, and are not members of Service Credit Union can open up an account with direct deposit of their net pay and qualify for future Government Shutdown Guaranteed Pay. When the members DFAS direct deposit is received, the funds Service Credit Union deposited to the members account prior to receiving the actual funds will be automatically deducted from the members account by Service Credit Union. Military and DOD GS employees who do not have an account nor are currently sending their direct deposit to Service Credit Union may apply for a low 4.9% "Government Shutdown loan" online, by phone or in branch. Service Credit Union also offers a Sequestration Program including a 0% loan for those members affected by any furloughs and a continuous Guaranteed Pay program which members enroll in as part of Courtesy Pay.
