Western Cooperative Credit Union (WCCU), with branches located throughout western ND, recently participated in the Miracle Jeans Day fundraiser for their local Childrens Miracle Network Hospital, and they rocked it!
WCCU members and employees exceeded and raised their fundraising goal three times! Their final goal was $1,500 - which the credit union exceeded ultimately raising a final total of $1,875 for the kids! And, as if this is not impressive enough- this was the first time that Western Cooperative CU has participated in this annual fundraiser!
Amongst the Credit Union for Kids national network for Miracle Jeans Day, WCCU ranked second for total donations raised through the online portal http://www.miraclejeansday.org , and first among Credit Unions in the Dakotas!
"Our employees are great" stated Melanie Stillwell, President/CEO of WCCU. "We kept surpassing our goal, so we would set a higher one. The people make the difference and WCCU has a great bunch of employees."
"We are excited to see such great results from credit unions in both North and South Dakota! Support from credit unions throughout the Dakotas for local Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals - through Miracle Jeans Day and other fundraisers - has grown steadily over the past two years," said Joe Dearborn, Senior Director of Credit Unions for Kids with Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals.
The Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals treat children in need of medical care, regardless of their familys ability to pay. Western Cooperative Credit Unions donation will benefit Sanford Childrens Hospital in Fargo, ND.
