In a statement released today, the credit union announced that Katie Murray, of Holden and Allison Pichette, of Worcester, were each awarded $1,000 scholarships. The John F. Simoncini retired from the WCU Board of Directors in 2011. "For 14 years, from 1999 to 2013, WCU has proudly donated 44 scholarships to area students, totaling $46,500," said WCU President and CEO Karen Duffy. "We are continually impressed by the quality of applicants each year. The young women chosen for this years scholarships are inspirations to their schools and their communities." Murray and Pichette were chosen by WCUs Community Investment Committee.
