DCU employees Diamond employees spend the "Day of Caring" beautifying the landscaping at Riverside Elementary School On Wednesday, September 11, a team of seven Diamond employees volunteered for the United Way Day of Caring. The project was to help beautify Riverside Elementary School in Reading, Pa., because a warm and inviting learning environment allows children to be active participants in their learning. The team pulled weeds, planted flowers, and raked the grassy areas around the school. During the day, the Diamond employees were welcomed by students who thanked them for helping their school. "We are incredibly thankful for this opportunity to help out in the community. Its so rewarding to hear the kids say thank you and I know that this is an experience they will remember when they are older, and hopefully theyll want to be volunteers too," stated Monica McCoach, Human Resources Associate at Diamond Credit Union. Diamond Credit Union is an avid supporter of the United Way. In 2013, Diamond continued 100% participation in their United Way Pledge Drive for the twelfth consecutive year, and the credit union just recently participated in a "Stuff the Bus" donation drive that benefited local students at the Pottstown Family Center. Diamond Credit Union is the 18th largest credit union in Pennsylvania and is headquartered in Pottstown, Pa., with three additional offices in the Reading area. Diamond serves Berks County and the Tri-County Region and holds over $400 million in assets with over 45,000 members.
