Credit Union Chapter Donates $100,000 to Texas Children's Hospital

Houston, Texas With a focus on children and families, the Houston Chapter of Credit Unions recently presented a check in the amount of $100,000 to the Texas Childrens Hospital.� Since 2002, the Houston Chapter has donated well over $400,000 to Texas Childrens, primarily for charity care.
"The mission of Texas Childrens corresponds with what credit unions represent," says Clint Hartmann, CEO of Houston Texas Fire Fighters Federal Credit Union and President of Houston Chapter of Credit Unions. "Working together to support Texas Childrens brings us together to achieve a common goal," Hartmann says, "which is about people helping people. Houston-area credit unions are here to serve their members and their families. By pooling our efforts, we can accomplish so much more.
Houston area credit unions, along with business partners, participate in the chapters four major fundraising tournaments throughout the year, from bowling in March, golf in April, volleyball in August and the very popular softball tournament and family day in September.� "
Our credit unions and business partners are involved in our fundraising events both because they want to be part of the event and because they want to help children and the hospital," says Hartmann. "As a result, our chapter is known state-wide for our fundraising efforts."
The Houston Chapter of Credit Unions provides a collaborative environment for credit union professionals and volunteers to receive education, leadership development, and grow credit union community influence.� The Houston Chapter is comprised of over 100 credit unions in the Houston metropolitan area.
