September 16, 2013
Fresno, CA A collaboration among Educational Employees Credit Union (Fresno, CA), Habitat for Humanity Fresno County and the City of Clovis has culminated with three families realizing their dream of homeownership.
EECUs financing model for the three houses will allow Habitat for Humanity to dedicate more of its resources to the construction of new homes, help improve neighborhoods, increase property values and continue its in-fill projects throughout the region. Beth Dooley, EECU president and CEO, said the credit union is pleased to be part of such a worthy endeavor. "At EECU, we believe its important to invest in our communities and thats why we are happy to partner with Habitat for Humanity to finance homes for these three deserving families," Dooley said. "By working with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, were helping to enrich our community, one family at a time." The three families will move into their Clovis homes thanks to the cooperative effort and their "sweat equity." The families, who labored together on the homes, each worked 500 hours toward the construction of the houses. EECU has 15 branches and serves more than 218,000 members in 10 counties.Photo: Tony Miranda, executive director of Habitat for Humanity Fresno County, speaks at a dedication in August for homes financed by Educational Employees Credit Union in Fresno, CA.
