LAWRENCEVILLE, GA� The Northeast Georgia Chapter of Credit Unions has donated a portion of the proceeds raised from their 18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament to the Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministries.
The food bank and financial support group, which received $750, is just one of the many organizations that will benefit from the Chapters support in 2013.� The Chapter designates charities in the local counties served by its 19 participating credit unions to receive funds from their annual golf tournament.� Charitable contributions by the Chapter total $15,000 for 2013.
"Its wonderful that our involvement in the chapter affords us yet another opportunity to support such worthy causes.� Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministries is just one of the many organizations dedicated to helping people in their time of need.� It goes back to the very principals that credit unions were founded on people helping people," said Laura Ryll, Chapter Board Member and Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer at Peach State Federal Credit Union.
"The Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministry is currently serving over 700 different households in Lawrenceville and Dacula each month.� We help with food, utility bills, prescription medication and emergency housing," said Linda Freund, Director of Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministries.� "Through the support of a caring community, we help to meet these needs.� Thank you, Peach State Federal Credit Union and the Northeast Georgia Chapter of Credit Unions, for being a vital part of our community and reaching out to help those in need in a very tangible way!"
