LOWELL, MA – Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union is pleased to present Lowell Association for the Blind with a $1,500 donation, as the third quarter winner of the organization's Give-A-Click campaign.

The Give-A-Click program runs quarterly on the We Share a Common Thread Foundation website (WSACT.com). Community members visit the site, learn about the worthy non-profit contestants, and cast their vote for the one they would like to support. The organization with the most votes at the end of the quarter is awarded a $1,500 donation from the Foundation. Lowell Philharmonic, Aaron’s Presents, and Lowell Association for the Blind were nominees for last quarter's Give-A-Click campaign.

Established in 1923, Lowell Association for the Blind, is a Lowell-based non-profit whose mission is to support, educate, and nurture the blind and visually impaired and help them learn new skills to gain independence. Lowell Association for the Blind offers a variety of programs for people of all ages, starting at age five with their youth services program, to their mentoring and adult programs. The office in Lowell provides an easily accessible space for meetings, technology training, Braille lessons, and a radio/recording studio. Their newest program teaches their members the necessary skills to succeed in the workforce.

“The $1,500 will go to funding our new Job Opportunities for the Blind Program, which works with members to find jobs near their homes, to help them become productive, independent members of society,” said Elizabeth Cannon, Executive Director for Lowell Association for the Blind.

“We are delighted that our members and the community have chosen to support such an important organization that is so crucial in the lives of the visually impaired,” said Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Officer at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union. “All of the nominees play an important role in the community and we’re happy that we can showcase their contributions through the Give-A-Click program.”

Community members can now cast their vote for Jeanne D’Arc’s fourth quarter Give-A-Click nominees. The nominees for this quarter’s campaign are Project Home Again, ABLED Advocacy, and Ruth’s House.
