Pelican State CU Awards $14,000 in College Scholarships

BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA – Pelican State Credit Union is excited to announce that it has awarded $14,000 in college scholarships in 2022 to graduating high school seniors
The Team Pelican Scholarship Program is an exclusive benefit to the credit union's Team Pelican youth savings account members! Thirteen finalists were selected by parish and on the basis of their academic achievements, heart for service displayed in their community, and the inspirational goals they’ve set for themselves.

A volunteer committee made up of Pelican team members carefully reviewed applications from the 90 high school students that took the time to apply. Award recipients are encouraged to use their scholarship to cover tuition, textbooks, meal and housing plans, and other educational expenses
Founded in 2008, Pelican’s Scholarship Award Program has awarded $115,500 in scholarships. It is one of the many reasons why it pays to be a member of Pelican. Team Pelican youth savings account holders benefit from not only scholarship award eligibility, but also monetary rewards for good grades on their report cards each semester.
