July 13, 2022
Bismarck, ND - The Dakota Credit Union Foundation held a virtual meeting on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, with the main order of business to review grant applications that were received during the latest disbursement period.
The board was thrilled to see that grant and scholarship requests exceeded their original endowment amount, which was for $5,000 (or five $1,000 grants). Therefore, the board decided to approve an additional $1,000 expenditure to cover all the grant requests they received!
The following credit unions are receiving funding from the foundation:
Dakota West CU (Watford City, ND) – $1,000 for the Zogo financial education app.
Healthcare Plus FCU (Aberdeen, SD) – $1,000 for the Zogo financial education app.
United Savings CU (Fargo, ND) – $1,000 for the Zogo financial education app.
Dakotaland FCU (Huron, SD) – $1,000 for Financial Counseling Certification (Fi-CEP).
Oahe FCU (Pierre, SD) – $1,000 for Financial Counseling Certification (Fi-CEP).
HB Telco FCU (Huron, SD) – $1,000 for Management/Policy Review training.
Congratulations to all the grant/scholarship recipients! Please note, grant requests may be submitted at any time by completing the simple form located here on the DakCU website. Each request is reviewed by the Foundation board and approved by vote.
In other business, Explorers CU (Yankton, SD) received a $1,250 scholarship from Alloya Corporate FCU for Zach Geraets, Business Growth Coordinator, to attend iLead@11 leadership development training.
