Arnold, Missouri, July 11, 2022 – With average gas prices hitting an all-time national high of $5.00 per gallon in early June and many people already struggling with putting food on the table at home, the Arnold Food Pantry began distributing free $25 gas cards last month to its clients who rely on it for nutritional needs.

Funds donated by Arsenal Credit Union ($6,000) and another business with a local presence made this possible.

Employees from Arsenal distributed gas cards and insulated lunch bags with household items inside on two consecutive Thursdays last month, putting smiles on the faces of many people and bringing relief to their wallets. More cards will distributed to clients in several weeks.

The Arnold Food Pantry is recognized as the largest independent food distribution center in the St. Louis region serving most of northern Jefferson County and parts of St. Louis County.
