LOWELL, MA- Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union is pleased to present MicroSociety Academy Charter School with a $1,500 donation from their first-quarter Give-A-Click Campaign.

The Give-A-Click Campaign runs quarterly on the We Share a Common Thread Foundation website (WSACT.com). Community members visit the site, learn about the worthy non-profit contestants, and cast their vote for the one they would like to support. The organization with the most votes at the end of the quarter is awarded a $1,500 donation from the Foundation.

MicroSociety Academy Charter School is a New Hampshire-based, kindergarten through 8th grade Chartered Public School. They first opened their doors in 2015 and supported 100 students. Since then, they have grown to serve over 250 students. Their mission is to create a learning environment to empower students to acquire the heart, knowledge, and skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world. MicroSociety Academy is different from other schools because they have a daily “MicroSociety Period” where their students take a break from traditional learning and apply their skills to real-world concepts. They create a working government, an internal currency, and they have jobs, which allows the students to have the power to create and learn real-life lessons through this program.

“The money from Jeanne D’Arc will allow us to support our unique MicroSociety program which allows our students to create a miniature society within our school. This money will allow them to tell us what they need,” said Jewel Hurt, Community Outreach Coordinator.

“We are thrilled to award MicroSociety with our 2022first quarter Give-A-Click donation. We celebrate their unique approach to preparing students far beyond the classroom and we’re happy we could help in a small way,” said Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Officer at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union.
