Credit Union Raises $35,000 for Local Charities

DANVILLE, PA On Friday, August 23, nearly 200 golfers and volunteers joined together to enjoy the 20th Annual Service 1st Charity Golf Tournament.� The tournament has a long-standing tradition of raising funds for local charities and this year was no exception.� �The total dollar amount raised was $35,000.� The three charities that benefited from the golf tournament were Janet Weis Childrens Hospital, SUNCOM Industries, Inc., and the Montour Area Recreation Commission (MARC).
The tournament was held at the Frosty Valley Country Club in Danville with a 9:00 am shotgun start.
Dr. Michael Ryan gratefully accepted the check on behalf of the Janet Weis Childrens Hospital saying, "This money goes to fund things that wouldnt normally be funded such as our childrens camps, our outlying programs, and special equipment.� So a big thank you to Service 1st and to all of you for your help and support."
