(SAN ANTONIO, TX – MARCH 29, 2022) –– The Security Service Charitable Foundation has donated $2,500 to Endeavors of San Antonio. This donation will help the San Antonio branch of this nationwide organization in its mission to provide housing and basic care resources to homeless or recently homed veterans.

“We believe that everyone holds the capacity to grow, heal, change, succeed, and affect others positively,” said Jon Allman, president and CEO for Endeavors of San Antonio. “This $2,500 donation will help us continue to provide comprehensive, effective, and innovative services that encourage growth and sustainability for our veterans.”

The donation will help to provide veterans in need with everyday essentials like hygiene kits, bedding, dishes, linens, soap, work clothes and more. In 2021, Endeavors’ VSS served nearly 1,000 local veterans through re-homing, eviction prevention services, job assistance, mental health and healthcare access. Seventy-One percent of the Veteran served remained stable six months after entering the program.

“Our veterans are so important and deserve the help they need to overcome homelessness,” said Brandy Ralston-Lint, senior vice president of corporate communications for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “We appreciate their sacrifice and service to our country, and it is a privilege to provide funding for the services they need to succeed.”

Endeavors began in 1969 as “Urban Ministries,” founded by several local churches to help meet inner-city community needs. Today, the outreach is a national, nonprofit service that serves vulnerable people in crisis. Endeavors’ Veteran Support Services (VSS) focuses exclusively on serving Texan veterans who are at risk of becoming homeless, or who are homeless.

The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union's market areas.
