(SAN ANTONIO, TX – MARCH 22, 2022) –– The Security Service Charitable Foundation has donated $2,500 to Daily Bread Ministries in San Antonio, TX. This donation will be used to purchase a mixture of shelf-stable dry goods and fresh food items to feed over 2,400 people in the surrounding area.

“Daily Bread focuses on addressing the root cause of poverty,” said Marcus Walker, executive director for Daily Bread Ministries. “Thanks to this donation from the Security Service Charitable Foundation, we are able to help more families and individuals overcome the burden of food insecurity as we work toward providing them with a sustainable solution to poverty.”

This year, the Security Service Charitable Foundation donation will help Daily Bread to purchase two semi truckloads of fresh and dry food items that will be distributed within the community. In addition to food provision, Daily Bread Ministries also offers training programs for community members on topics like money management, parenting and leadership development.

Daily Bread Ministry was founded in 1996 by former farmer and vending business owner, Seth Kuehn. Initially operated out of Mr. Keuhn’s garage with a handful of volunteers, the organization now feeds roughly 80,000 community members and distributes over $10 million of food annually. Alongside 100+ ministry partners, Daily Bread serves San Antonio, Bexar, Bandera, Coal, Kendall, Kerr, Gillespie, Medina and Uvalde counties.
