MANHATTAN, KS – March 2, 2022: On March 2, kstate CREDIT UNION presented a check for $7,200 to Pawnee Mental Health—these funds were raised during kstate CREDIT UNION’s annual Skip-A-Pay Program. The program allows credit union members to skip their November or December loan payment for a $25 fee and a portion of the proceeds are then donated to a local organization.

LaRae Kraemer, President/CEO for kstate CREDIT UNION said, “Our members have made this possible and we are excited that the proceeds are being donated to Pawnee Mental Health. They provide so many important services to help assist those in need from our community.”

Pawnee Mental Health serves the Manhattan community to meet the needs of clients with a variety of mental health services including crisis & medical services as well as therapy & recovery services. They serve as the only Community Mental Health Center in the area.

Robbin W Cole, Executive Director for Pawnee Mental Health, said, “Pawnee is so grateful to the employees and members of the K State Credit Union for choosing to support us during the Skip-A-Payment promotion. This type of generosity and support from the community is vital to Pawnee’s mission to provide comprehensive, quality mental health and recovery services to strengthen the wellness of our communities. Thank you so much.”
