Sentinel FCU Celebrates Month of Giving
March 9, 2022
Rapid City, SD - Sentinel FCU celebrated February this year with a wonderful month of giving back to their communities! On Valentine’s Day, February 14, Sentinel FCU donated $1000 to support local organizations with money raised through the credit union’s “Skip A Payment” program.
Each year, Sentinel FCU offers members the opportunity to skip a loan payment on certain qualifying loans. A portion of the “Skip A Payment” fee is then set aside, to be awarded to various groups and programs that support members in the communities they serve.
This year, $200 was presented to the Boys & Girls Club of the Black Hills. Boys & Girls Clubs provide young people with opportunities to engage in programs that help them achieve academic success, take charge of their health by building healthy habits that will stick with them throughout their lives, and foster the skills they need to become leaders in their communities. $400 was presented to WellFully adolescent care center. $200 was presented to Operation Black Hills Cabin. Operation Black Hills Cabin provides a week-long getaway for combat wounded Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their immediate family to promote healing through family reconnection, reflection and fun while exploring the Black Hills of South Dakota.
In addition, a $200 donation was made to the Colome Pink Ladies Dart League.
Finally, on February 2, credit union staff proudly supported the Monument Health Cancer Care Institute Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign to help raise funds and awareness to honor those members of our community whose lives have been impacted by cancer.
