Rapid City, SD - February 18, 2022 - Black Hills Federal Credit Union (BHFCU) proudly makes an annual donation to the United Way of the Black Hills. Through several staff Jeans Day fundraisers held during 2021, individual pledges, and a corporate donation, BHFCU donated $14,550 to the United Way of the Black Hills.

“This donation to the United Way of the Black Hills is just one way the credit union continues to fulfill our mission to improve lives,” said Jerry Schmidt, president & CEO. “Our donation will make a lasting impact on families across the region through the many programs supported by the United Way.”

The employee donation of over $14,500 is a testament to the impact BHFCU can make when working together. By partnering with the United Way, BHFCU can have a meaningful effect on families and individuals throughout the Black Hills.

The United Way acts as a waypoint for donations to make the most significant differences in our communities. From 2020 to 2021, the United Way of the Black Hills served 149,860 people through funded agencies. An additional 167,462 people were helped through COVID-19 Relief Fund efforts.

BHFCU supports community needs through corporate contributions, employee fundraisers and Jeans Day donations, and contributions from members, staff, and community supporters to the Black Hills FCU Charitable Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
