HFS Federal CU Celebrating 85 Years of Service
January 4, 2022
Where Caring Counts.
Hilo, HI. (January 4, 2022) – HFS Federal Credit Union is celebrating 85 years of service to its members. HFS Federal Credit Union is the largest, not-for-profit and member-owned financial institution on Hawai’i Island. Established in 1937, a small group of government employees each pooled $5.25 to begin Hawaii Federal-Territorial Employees Federal Credit Union, serving employees of the Federal and Territorial Governments and their families. Eighty-five years later, now known as HFS Federal Credit Union, they continue to grow with membership open to any person who lives, works or attends school on Big Island of Hawai’i and their immediate family members.
The success of the credit union can be attributed to its members who have remained loyal for so many years and have entrusted the credit union with their financial needs. There are generations of families who become members and have grown with the credit union. HFS embraces the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People,” cultivating relationships that not only support its members, but also support local businesses, organizations and special events in the community.
The anniversary celebration will continue all year round with lots of exciting incentives throughout the year like sweepstakes for credit cards, new accounts and new loans, to name a few. There’s no purchase necessary to enter or to win. For official sweepstakes rules and more information regarding the anniversary or services and benefits, interested parties can visit www.hfsfcu.org, contact the Credit Union at (808) 930-1400 or stop by any of their branches in Hilo, Kea’au, Prince Kuhio Plaza, Honoka’a, Waimea or the Kona Coast Shopping Center.
HFS Federal Credit Union sends a big MAHALO to all of their members, volunteer Board members and Supervisory Committee members, friends, family and community partners who truly make HFS Federal Credit Union a place Where Caring Counts!
