Mills42 FCU Presents 42 Market Basket Gift Cards to Local Shoppers
December 2, 2021
We are a small but mighty federal credit union located in the heart of Lowell, Massachusetts. Membership in Mills42 is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Lowell, the northern portion of Chelmsford or the western portion of Tewksbury.
Lowell, Mass — This past Tuesday, right before the Thanksgiving holiday, members of the Mills42 Team gathered at the local Lowell Market Basket. Their mission: To do their part in giving back to this community they all love so much. And in a matter of a few hours, they had done just that—distributing 42 Market Basket gift cards, each worth $25.
One of the recipients happens to volunteer as a cook at an area homeless shelter. He was delighted with his gift card and planned to use it to buy food for the shelter.
This is the second year in a row that Mills42 has purchased and distributed Market Basket gift cards, and it’s just one of many small acts of kindness that this small, but mighty credit union performs within Greater Lowell month in and month out.
Derek Cronin, CEO of Mills42 FCU, celebrates this latest team effort by reinforcing the mission of the credit union. “The credit union movement, at its core, is about people helping people. We’re a community credit union, and we love our community. As a team, we agreed that there was no better way to celebrate this particular holiday than by helping 42 members of our community have a brighter day and a better Thanksgiving.”
Mills42 FCU was chartered in 1958 to serve the employees and families of M/A-COM Technology Solutions. In 2005 the credit union expanded their charter to serve specific communities within Greater Lowell, Massachusetts, and moved to their current location at 83 Merrimack Street in downtown Lowell. In addition to English, the credit union has team members who are fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and Khmer. Mills42 has more than 3,000 members and assets of over $27 million
