Skyward CU Donates $5,000 to the Kansas Aviation Museum Skyward
November 22, 2021
Wichita, KS, November 11, 2021 -- Skyward Credit Union has donated to Kansas Aviation Museum, a not-for-profit organization with a mission to preserve and educate the public about Wichita aviation history.
As the “Air Capital of the World,” Wichita has a rich and prominent history in the development of the global aviation industry. Kansas Aviation Museum is located in the historic Wichita Airport Terminal which once served dignitaries and celebrities alike as a stopover for cross-country airlines. During the 1940s, it was one of the busiest airports in the nation.
Today, this historic building is home to the museum which offers hands-on and static displays of the area’s aviation history, as well as a fleet of historic aircraft displays (both military and civilian) located on the grounds. This donation will help the museum with the annual Play on a Plane event that allows the community to visit the museum, participate in activities and tour historic aircraft up close. Skyward is proud to support the Kansas Aviation Museum and their mission to preserve, educate and commemorate Kansas aviation for future generations.
