Hanscom FCU Announces Recognizes Employees for Outstanding Member Service

Hanscom AFB, MA (November 15, 2021) –Hanscom Federal Credit Union has given its 2021 Cushman Award to LaShaun Miller and Sadie Harmon, also known as “Team Service Desk” at the credit union. This year’s award, which recognizes a top-performing employee, was given for the first time in its history to a team instead of an individual.
The Cushman Award is designed to recognize employees who exemplify the credit union’s core values of Members First, Integrity, Teamwork, Innovation, and Empathy. It’s named for John Cushman, a volunteer who served for many years on Hanscom FCU’s board of directors and gave tirelessly of his time and energy to improve service to members.
This year’s award winners were recognized because of their commitment to the core value of Teamwork. While Miller joined the credit union’s service desk in July 2019 and Harmon in April 2020, they quickly formed a camaraderie while working through changes in management and the pressure the COVID-19 pandemic put on the organization’s IT resources. The demands put on them over the last year were great, but their ability to assist others effectively and cheerfully as a team despite those demands was noticed by many. As one employee noted, “Sadie and LaShaun are my lifesavers.”
“Sadie and LaShaun stand out among our employees this year with their eagerness to assist their co-workers in any way they can,” said David Sprague, Hanscom FCU’s president and CEO. “That they are able to work as a unified resource for our employees is greatly appreciated by many at the credit union, and I’m happy that Sadie and LaShaun are the first team ever to be awarded this annual honor.”
