Vermont FCU Delivers Supplies to Local Food Pantries in Celebration of ICU Day
October 22, 2021
Burlington, VT - On October 21, 2021, Vermont Federal Credit Union will join over 56,000 credit unions around the world to celebrate International Credit Union (ICU) Day. ICU Day highlights the many ways that credit unions across the world help members improve their financial health and well-being.
In celebration of International Credit Union Day, Vermont Federal Credit Union team members delivered food and reusable tote bags to seven food shelfs across northern Vermont.
“Credit unions were built on the principle of “people helping people,” said Jean Giard, CEO. “Food insecurity in our great state is an important issue for us. The lack of access to sufficient food because of limited financial resources is something we want to reduce as much as possible in Vermont. ”
For more than 100 years, credit unions have been providing access to affordable financial products while working to meet the needs of underserved communities. Vermont Federal Credit Union is honored to be a part of this proud tradition.
Vermont Federal Credit Union invites both members and nonmembers to visit one of their seven branches to celebrate this day.
