Pelican State CU Gives Away $3,000 Worth of Food in Surprise "Pay it Forward" Takeover
October 6, 2021
BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA—Pelican State Credit Union hosted a surprise “Pelican Pays it Forward” takeover at Rice & Roux located at 2158 O’Neal Lane in Baton Rouge on Monday, September 27, 2021.
The credit union paid for $3,000 worth of lunch for guests that visited the restaurant from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm as a token of their appreciation for welcoming Pelican into the community.
The event came as a surprise to Rice & Roux customers. Instead of receiving a bill after placing their order, each customer was given a flier informing them that their lunch had been taken care of by Pelican. Pelican team members were excited to showcase their heart for service and bring an extra dash of joy to Rice & Roux customers.
Pelican's Baton Rouge at O’Neal branch opened its doors in October 2020, expanding member access to Pelican in East Baton Rouge Parish. The credit union is thrilled to continue serving the Baton Rouge community for years to come.
