EAST LANSING, Mich. — MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) hosted a virtual toy drive last month, partnering with Sparrow Hospital’s Children’s Center to support children in the community.

More than 70 items were donated for the Children’s Center playroom, a place for young patients and their families to experience a home away from home while receiving care. Nurses and child life specialists use the playroom to help children recover from illness or injury through play, education, and emotional support.

The Credit Union has hosted the toy drive for eight years, either virtually or through drop-off sites at its various locations.

“We embrace our role as a community leader and support many charitable initiatives vital to our thriving community,” said Whitney Anderson-Harrell, MSUFCU Chief Community Development Officer. “This annual toy drive allows our members and employees to show their dedication to our community, and over this eight-year partnership with Sparrow Children’s Center, MSUFCU members and employees have donated more than 1,700 toys.”
