YORKVILLE, Ill. – As part of their Community Giveback campaign, Earthmover Credit Union (ECU) donated $1,000 in school supplies to the Kendall County Community Food Pantry’s (KCCFP) upcoming School Supply Drive.
The School Supply Drive will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, August 7 at the KCCFP at 208 Beaver St., Yorkville. ECU donated $1,000 of school supplies, including: notebooks, paper, scissors, pencil pouches, pencil boxes, pens, index cards and crayons. ECU staff members also volunteered and packed backpacks with school supplies.
“Credit unions have been founded on the philosophy ‘People Helping People,’” Vice President of Marketing and Business Development Janel Cabadas said. “This runs deep in our culture at Earthmover Credit Union. We strive to make a difference in our community, and the best way we know to do this is by getting out in the community and helping where needed.”
ECU’s Community Giveback campaign includes year-round efforts to provide local nonprofit organizations with important funds and donations.
On August 7, the KCCFP will distribute the backpacks to ensure that children and teens go back to school with everything they need.
“It is a privilege to work with local non-profits to deliver on our promise to give back to those who have supported us over all these years,” Cabadas said.
