Northwest Federal Donates Over $17,000 to Local Food Pantries

HERNDON, VA (July 30, 2021) — Northwest Federal Credit Union recently met with representatives from food pantries across Northern Virginia, providing donations in support of their programs to address food insecurity in the local community. In total, Northwest Federal donated $17,500 to eight food pantries.

“When the nation experienced massive layoffs last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, many families in our area had an urgent need for food assistance,” said President and CEO of Northwest Federal, Jeff Bentley. “Our Community Partners were able to provide resources to people when they needed it most, and we’re honored to be able to support their continued efforts.”

All recipient organizations are Northwest Federal Credit Union Community Partners. The Community Partner program at Northwest Federal is a free partnership for 501(c)(3) organizations whose missions align with Northwest Federal’s four paths of community outreach: animal welfare, children and special needs, environment and the arts, and health and wellness.
