July 15, 2021
EAST HARTFORD, CT (July 14, 2021) — American Eagle Financial Credit Union (AEFCU) today announced a $5,000 grant to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford to assist the organization in continuing its 160-year legacy of servicing and protecting Hartford youth. The grant, which will be distributed through the American Eagle Financial Credit Union Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, represents the Credit Union’s continued commitment to charitable initiatives within its service area’s communities.
Established in 1860, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford touches the lives of 10,000 youth each year by filling the gap between school and home and providing a welcoming and positive environment. The $5,000 American Eagle grant will support the organization’s six program focus areas: Workforce Readiness, Academic Success, Character and Leadership, Health and Wellness, STEAM Education and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
“At our Clubs, we equip members with the skills, knowledge, training and education they need to pursue their goals and interests,” stated Sam Gray, Jr., President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford. “Now more than ever our Clubs are needed as we move forward in supporting our youth of tomorrow.”
“The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford is an incredible organization that’s been embedded in the Hartford community for well over a century,” stated Dean Marchessault, President and CEO of American Eagle Financial Credit Union. “They touch the lives of nearly one in three children in Hartford Public Schools—that’s a real, meaningful impact on the community and American Eagle is thrilled to be able to play a small role in helping them continue their important work. We thank them for all they do.”
