Glendale, CA (June 29, 2021) –– Los Angeles Federal Credit Union (LAFCU) raised a total of $9,000 in donations for Operation Gratitude. This includes $4,000 that LAFCU raised in our branches and online in May, plus a $5,000 corporate contribution through our charity, the Los Angeles Charitable Association (LACA), which was created in 2006 to collect and distribute funds to deserving charities in the greater Los Angeles Area.

Founded in 2003, Operation Gratitude has delivered more than 3.2 million care packages to our hero service members. The organization serves a broad spectrum of heroes, including deployed troops, veterans, wounded heroes and caregivers, military families, recruit grads, and first responders. Due to the pandemic, LAFCU employees weren’t able to assemble care packages in person at Operation Gratitude’s “Forward Operating Base” in Chatsworth but instead raised monies from in-person branch donations, online contributions, and from a raffle of a summer-themed gift basket for LAFCU staff and their families. 93% of all donations to Operation Gratitude go directly to program services and they have a 4-Star rating from Charity Navigator as well as a coveted Platinum rating from Guidestar for five consecutive years.

Anyone who lives in most counties of Southern California can join LAFCU and take advantage of its financial services. For details, visit www.LAFCU.org, call (877) MY LAFCU (695-2328), or visit a branch.
