Genisys CU REcognized for Putting Members First

Auburn Hills, MI. - June 24, 2021 - For the second year in a row, Genisys Credit Union is recognized as a Best Credit Union in Michigan from Forbes in their annual “America’s Best-In-State Credit Unions.”

Forbes partnered with market research firm, Statista, to survey 25,000 consumers who were asked to rate credit unions at which they have or previously have had checking accounts. The survey looked at trust, terms and conditions, branch services, digital services, customer service, and financial advice in regards to overall satisfaction.
Built on the principle of putting members first, Genisys Credit Union gives back with their Genius High Yield Checking, which pays members an annual percentage yield (APY) of 4.07% and offers debit card rewards. For those 18 and under, they have a High Yield Youth Savings with an APY of 5.12% on balances up to $500. “By growing their savings, this program aims to help our youngest members learn the importance of financial literacy in reaching their financial goals,” said Buchanan.
They continue to enhance their mobile and online banking system with features and functionality such as “on/off” debit and credit card controls. The controls allow you to receive usage notifications, adjust spending limits in real time, set GPS location limits, offer touchID for quick card access, and more to stay in control of your card, safely and securely.
“A cornerstone of community action lies in giving back,” said Buchanan. “We focus on upholding the role of community partner by ensuring each branch in our footprint is supported based on the area’s unique needs, positively impacting the well-being of our community members.” The credit union partners with local organizations to support events for community members to attend at little or no cost, brings Reality Fairs to schools for students to get hands-on experience with budgeting & financial wellness, and raises funds for non-profit organizations like Lighthouse and the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
